Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. As
Christmas
and a new year quickly approach, we look forward to yet another year to
be
able to serve our Savior. The Lord has allowed us to reach 58% of
our
needed support. We have been to Kansas and Texas in the west,
Pennsylvania
and Washington D.C. in the East, and to the southernmost part of
Georgia.
We have been able to give the kids wonderful geography lessons.
Due to my mother's rapidly declining health, we have had to reschedule
some
meetings into the new year. I want to thank those pastors and
churches
for understanding and being willing to accommodate. Please
continue
to pray for all of us. My mother is requiring 24-hour care now
and
Patsy and I take care of her while my dad goes to work. We all face the
mixed
emotions involved in preparing to loose a loved one. We
pray
continuously for the Lord's grace and mercy. My mother accepted
Christ
as her Savior four years ago and has grown in the Lord
tremendously.
While I was sitting with her the other day, I asked her to pray for
lunch.
As she was praying she broke down and with tear filled eyes thanked
Jesus
for dying for her sins and giving her eternal life. The Lord
stirred
and comforted my soul.
We are still hoping to have our full support raised by late spring or
early
summer. As much as we want to be in Spain, we are saddened to see
our
own country in such spiritual turmoil. With the recent political
events
that have taken place, we see that God's children, as a whole, are
failing
to do what He has commanded us to do. He commanded us to
evangelize
the world and contend for the faith. Our churches need a good
dose
of 2 Chronicles 7:14. We are praying that God will allow our
country
to see revival once more before the Lord's return.
We want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New
Year.
We are very grateful to all the churches that have sent in extra this
month
to help us with Christmas expenses. May God richly bless you for
your
kindness.
I want to close this letter with a praise testimony. While on
deputation,
I have had the wonderful privilege to speak in two churches that
supported
the missionary to the military in Spain (Chris Parker), whose ministry
I
was saved under. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful it felt
to
be in these churches and see the people who cared enough to send a
missionary
to Spain, so that he could reach servicemen for Christ. With this
in
mind, I strongly commend all of you who have continued supporting
missionaries.
You never know who will be won to Christ and used by Him to further His
work.
God bless you all.
