August - September 2000

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We serve a wonderful Savior!  On August 6, 1999, we began deputation.  Now, one year and almost two months later we are at 51% of our needed support.  Glory to His Wonderful Name!  It has been absolutely an honor to serve the Lord and He has provided our every need. We have even had the privilege to see a few people put their faith and trust in Christ for salvation this year.

We started deputation with a Ford Escort wagon, and the Lord enabled us to purchase a GMC Safari mini van.  Soon after we bought the van, the engine went out.  The Lord provided a new one for us.  Then the trans-mission went out.  Again, the Lord took care of it.  The heater coil, air conditioner and wiper motor went out.  Yes, the Lord took care of those too.  He used His servants to help us along the trail.  We want to thank all of you that have helped us along the way for allowing Christ to bless us through you.  We have traveled over 60,000 miles on deputation this past year and the Lord has blessed in every way.

Faith Promise became a reality to us once we started deputation, because we really had to trust the Lord to provide it for us.  The Lord never fails to meet His promise.  Not only that, but the Lord impressed upon us to double what we were giving.  Glory to His name!  Think of the blessings, if only everyone (including me) would learn to trust Him early in their lives.

Your prayers are greatly appreciated.  We are so thankful that you have taken time to make petitions for us to our Heavenly Father.  Patsy's grandmother went to be with the Lord on September 14.  We were able to attend the funeral in Arkansas. It was a blessing due to her grandmother's clear testimony of salvation.  Without a doubt, she is in a better place.  Thank you for your kind cards, e-mails and prayers.  While we were there, the Lord allowed us the opportunity to drop in at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs.  They were having a mini Missions Revival and invited us to present our work and be a part of the revival.  God certainly knows what He is doing.  We are still requesting prayers for my mother.  She has discontinued chemotherapy after learning that the liver cancer was still growing.  The doctor told us that she might have six months left.  She is trusting in the Lord to either heal her, or take her on to glory.  Please continue to remember my dad in your prayers also.  He is handling all of this with the Lord's help, but needs to be lifted up by the brethren.

We are still scheduling meetings into the middle of next year. The rest of this year is almost completely booked up with meetings.  We are hoping to be on the field in Language School by the spring of next year (2001).  Please continue being faithful and praying for us.  We are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us in our second year of deputation.  Thanks be most of all to the King of kings, and Lord of lords.
