Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings from Rota, Spain in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ!
The Lord is greatly to be praised. He deserves our utmost. Yes,
He
is continually blessing His work here. We have been so excited to
see
His hand at work in so many lives.
The first family that joined the church after we arrived in Rota is
really
growing in the Lord. Both Whitney and Holli are now teaching
Sunday
School. He is teaching the Adult class and she is teaching the
8-10
year old class. They are also expecting their second child this
summer.
In our last prayer letter we told you about Alex, a young lady, who
accepted
Christ as her personal Savior. The same day she made her
profession
of faith, a tragic wreck claimed the life of her ex-husband in
California.
But the good that came of that was that she was able to have custody of
her
8-year-old son again. She and her husband flew back to the States
to
get Robert (her son) and he is now living here. The real blessing
in
all of this is that Robert has now accepted Christ as his personal
Savior
also. Romans 8:28 really comes to mind when you ponder upon all
that
has taken place.
We had also told you about Semih (Sammy) from Turkey who supposedly
made
a profession of faith and then told the lady who helped her, that she
didn't
want anything to do with her, her Jesus, etc.... Semih came back
to
church just recently and told us that she did accept Christ as her
Savior
and that she wants to give her testimony. We ask that you please
continue
to pray for her. We want her to be obedient unto the Lord and
make
very sure of her salvation.
Thanksgiving was wonderful this year! Thank you to all who sent
us
cards for this holiday. We had Thanksgiving dinner here at the
house
for whoever wanted to come. There were 41 people who showed up
ranging
from church members and their friends to missionaries from nearby
towns.
Please pray for Eddie and Tonia Rodriguez and their two children. They
were
invited to the dinner by one of our church families and started coming
to
church that next Sunday. They both gave good testimonies of
salvation,
but Eddie hadn't been baptized. Eddie rededicated his life to the
Lord
and wanted to be baptized. Following his baptism, he and his wife
came
forward and joined the church. We have had four baptisms during
these
past two months: Eddie, Robert, Agnes (the Philippine lady in the last
prayer
letter) and Christopher our son. We give God the glory for such
wonderful
blessings that He bestows upon us.
We strongly covet your prayers for Sean and Lanie Denton and
Mariangeles
Freeman. They are people attending the church, who as far as we
know,
aren't saved. They know they need to be saved, but for whatever
reason
have not asked Christ to be their Savior. All three come from a
Catholic
background and have said that they believe what we are preaching and
teaching
to be the truth.
As the year is coming to an end we praise God for all His wonderful
mercy,
His grace, and His love. Merry Christmas to all of you and may
the
Lord give us all a Glorious New Year. We want to thank all of you
who
have sacrificed your time and money to give us extra for
Christmas.
May God richly bless you.
