Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings, from Spain, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ!
Our gracious Lord is allowing us to see wonderful things happen
here.
Since our last prayer letter we have seen three baptisms and two more
souls
put their faith and trust in Christ as their personal Savior. The
three
people that were baptised were Pablo, Kuba (former Muslim), and
Milagrosa.
The two that were saved are Marisa and Antonia. Marcello, another
man
from the church, and I had the opportunity to witness to Antonia and
her
husband about a month ago. She has been coming to the church off
and
on and last night she went forward and asked Christ to save her.
1
Corinthians 3:6 "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the
increase."
Our Spanish is gradually improving day by day. I have been practising
one
on one with the men of the church and was able to preach a short
sermon,
mostly in Spanish, with need of a little help from Bro. Cooper
recently.
Patsy has been learning Spanish from another lady in the church.
Mari
Carmen has been such a wonderful blessing to us. She is coming
every
day and asks nothing in return. Joni (her husband) and I go out
several
times a week passing out tracts and witnessing to people here in
Lebrija
and in other villages.
Right now we are going to El Cuervo, a village outside of Lebrija,
every
week with hopes of eventually establishing a church there. There
is
a family there who has shown interest in salvation that we are trying
to
win to Christ. We have given them Bibles and shown them how they
could
be saved. I ask that you please pray for this family, that God
would
remove the scales from their eyes and allow them to come to know
Him.
It takes a lot of time and instruction before most Spaniards can
clearly
see their need for salvation.
We have other prayer requests that we ask that you join us in praying
for.
The Lord has blessed us with the expectancy of another child. Our
new
child should arrive sometime in July. Also we petition your
prayers
for my dad, Bill Beck. He is having heart problems and the
doctors
are trying to find out what is wrong through stress tests and other
methods.
Patsy has been given the opportunity to arrange a Christmas play for
the
church here that will be presented on January 6, 2002 (Three King's Day
in
Spain). This will be a great opportunity to have families come to
the
church that usually would not. She will be using all the children
in
the church as the Biblical characters. Bro. Cooper will finish
the
service with a clear presentation of the Gospel.
We want to thank everyone who has taken the time and effort to be a
part
of the ministry that the Lord has given us here. We have already
received
cards for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as some wonderful
gifts.
May God richly bless your unselfishness and generosity. We want
to
wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
