Personal Testimony

My Personal Testimony:

I was saved while serving in the U.S. Navy  in June of 1992 at Rota, Spain. I was invited to go to Bethel Baptist Church (BIMI Mission to the Military) and attend a single's meeting. At the time Pastor Chris Parker was on furlough, and Bro. Jim Whitted was filling in. Through the preaching of God's Word I became convicted of my need to be saved. I had grown up all my life being religious, but lost.  I came forward at the end of the service and asked Jesus to come into my heart, cleanse me of my sin and be my Savior.

My Call to Preach:

In June of '95 God called me to preach.  When I told my pastor (Pastor Bill Driggers) that I thought God was calling me to preach, he suggested that I attend Seminary to further my education and prepare myself for the ministry.  I then publicly announced it before the church. After deciding it was the Lord's will for me to attend a Bible College or seminary, I left my job at Weyerhaeuser Lumber Company and moved that summer to attend seminary. At first, I attended Texas Baptist Institute in Henderson, TX.

The Lord then laid it upon my heart He wanted me to go elsewhere for Bible training. After talking to one of my spiritual fathers, we felt it was the Lord's will to go to Crown College in Powell, TN.  My family and I then moved to the Powell area and enrolled in Crown College , a ministry of Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Clarence Sexton.

Call to the Mission Field:

In October of '96 God moved upon my wife and I to return to Spain as missionaries. We already loved the country and the people. For years we wondered if we should go there as missionaries, but were indecisive. We weren't sure if it was because we desired to return there or because God was calling us there. Finally in October, God made it very clear to our hearts that He wanted us there. We are being sent out by Canaan Baptist Church and are sent through Macedonia World Baptist Missions, Inc.
