April - May 2000
Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I
would like to begin this prayer letter by bragging on Jesus. He
continues
to bless us with His constant care for our every
need.
We can never praise Him enough. We have been blessed by so many
of
the churches that we have been honored to present our burden to these
two
months. The Lord provided the necessary funds to repair the air
conditioner
in our van. We were really dreading the heat of summer without
one.
Thanks to caring servants of the Lord we won't have to worry about the
heat
this year.
I underwent surgery on May 24th at the Veteran Affairs Hospital
in
Johnson City, TN. There was a lump in my right breast that the
doctor
was concerned about due to our family history of cancer. The
surgery
went very well and all indications are that the mass was benign. We are
prayerfully
waiting on the pathology report. I thank the Lord for holding my
hand
and protecting me during the operation. Thank you to everyone who
prayed
for me. All seems to be healing up very well.
During these last two months of deputation we have had numerous
opportunities
to go soul winning in various cities. There have been several
places
where we were able to pass out tracts and witness in Spanish speaking
communities.
Unfortunately we weren't aware of a local Spanish church or ministry to
direct
them to. There is a great need for Spanish-speaking works all
over
the U.S. "Where there is no vision the people perish:" (Prov.
29:18).
The people of the United States are growing cold to the Gospel of
Jesus
Christ. It is such a shame that people are judging our Lord and
Savior
by the actions of sinful men. We should strive to be more
Christ-like
in all that we do to keep from bringing reproach to the cause of
Christ.
We must not let Satan destroy our zeal to see souls won to
Christ.
We definitely need revival among God's people.
Please pray for Joshua Gregory. He is a young boy that made a
profession
of faith in Christ at one of the churches I was able to preach in
recently.
The Lord is still snatching souls out of Satan's hands.
As far as our support is concerned, we are currently near
40%.
We are praying that the rest of the support will come in quickly.
Our
desire is to be on the field by early next year. Please continue
to
pray for us as we seek more like-minded churches to allow us to present
our
ministry and burden for Spain. We know that He is able to provide
all
that we need (Ephesians 3:20). Please pray that God will prepare
the
hearts of the Spanish men, women, and children that we will be
ministering
to once we get to the field.
