March - April 2004

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  March and April have been very busy months for us.  The Lord has blessed us by allowing new churches to take us on for support.  We want to thank Him and those churches for entrusting us to represent them in Spain.  Another tremendous blessing is that some of our faithful supporting churches have sacrificially increased their support that they were already giving us.

We request your prayers due to the fact that we still need to raise more support so that we can keep our scheduled August 19th return to Spain.  The forecast for the Euro to U.S. dollar exchange rate is very uncertain.  Some economists predict the exchange rate will be worse or if it should improve, those results will be very small over the next year.  The European Union has accepted ten new nations as of May 1st.  Many of these nations are formerly communist and they have very weak economies.  It is uncertain how all of this will affect Spanish and European economies.  Another example is the terrorist attacks in Spain on March 11.  Not only did it change the outcome of the elections, but also more importantly, hundred of souls stepped out into an eternity without Christ.  We are not sure how the new Socialistic government will affect the missionaries already in Spain or those desiring to go.  We do know that Christ is still on the throne and nothing surprises Him.

We would like to ask you to pray for some co-laborers who are praying about coming to work with us.  Jamin and Julie Witte are nearing the end of their deputation and they hope to come join us in January 2005.  Shawn Corbin is another missionary who has just started his deputation and needs your prayers.  He is also praying about coming to work with us.  The Lord is answering our prayers for more laborers in Southern Spain.

Please continue to pray for Patsy’s mother, Shelah Wisler.  Patsy and the boys went out to be with her after a scare with Shelah’s heart in April.  She is doing much better now, but continues to need much prayer.

Thank you for continuing to faithfully stand behind us.  Only in eternity will you realize how much we appreciate all of you.  We have recently joined Canaan Baptist Church in Covington, GA under Dr. Scott Caudill.  We are excited about the privilege to work with and represent Dr. Caudill and Canaan Baptist Church.
