Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Summer has arrived and boy is it hot! We have been having
record-breaking
heat all over Europe. Every weekend we experience a population
explosion
here in Puerto. People from all over Andalusia (the region in
which
we live) flock to the beaches for their vacations to escape the inland
heat.
In our February - March prayer letter we had written to you about a
young
man from England named Jason who accepted Christ as his Savior.
Jason
returned here to visit his mother and brought his friend Chris (also 14
yrs.
old) with him. Chris came with Jason to the services one Sunday
and
on the following Monday Jason and his parents led him to the
Lord.
Hallelujah! This was a tremendous blessing for us to see fruit
that
the Lord has given us, to produce fruit of his own. It is
wonderful
to see the Lord's plan for evangelism working full fold. Chris
then
followed the Lord in believer's baptism. Please pray for them as
they
return to England. We have been unable to locate a Bible
believing
church in their area.
Another blessing from the Lord is that Patsy was
able
to lead a lady named Patricia to the Lord. Patricia and her
husband
just recently transferred here from the states. Paul, her
husband,
is saved and has been praying that the Lord would save his wife.
God
answers prayer. We ask that you pray for Patricia as she grows in
the
Lord and desires to serve Him. We just recently had another new
family
come and unite with the church. They moved here from Washington
State.
They are new Christians and we ask that you pray for them.
We ask that you pray for Pastor Chris Parker and his
family.
He and his wife returned here to take the work back over and had a
scheduled
return to the states to pick up their visas. While back in the
states
Pastor Parker found out that he had a valve in his heart not
functioning
properly. He had surgery on August 13 in order to replace the
valve.
During the surgery they learned that the valve wasn't as bad as
thought,
but they did find a hole in his heart. He is now on the road to
recovery
and will be back here in about 6 weeks, Lord willing. Please pray
that
the Lord will guide the physicians and also give Pastor Parker a speedy
recovery.
We will continue to fill in for him until his return.
The Lord has also allowed us the opportunity to
witness
more to our landlords. I had given Enrique a Bible recently while
his
wife was visiting family. We talked to him about having Bible
studies
with him and his wife, and due to his religious background he was
skeptical.
After waiting a few minutes, he asked me "just what do you
teach?"
I was happy to tell him that we teach strictly what the Bible teaches
and
not man's opinion. Later, however, he and his wife invited us
over
for dinner. He told us that they believe "only what the priest
tells
them." How unfortunate. Please ask the Lord to open their
hearts
to His Word.
Patsy and the boys are doing fine. She is
gearing
up for the next school year with the boys and they aren't too thrilled
about
"school". The boys are becoming faithful witnesses amongst their
friends
and even to adults. It is a great joy to know that our children
want
to tell people about the Lord. After all, Proverbs 22:6 tells us
exactly
what to do…train them.
Last but not least, we want to thank you all for
your
continued support and prayers. Without you obeying the Lord it
would
be impossible for us to serve Him in this ministry. We know that
the
Lord is adding fruit to your account.
