| Dear Pastor and Praying Friends, Greetings in the name of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ. It seems as though an eternity has passed since we left Spain. We can finally prepare to go back “home” in what appears to be a matter of a few months. We are scheduled to meet with the Spanish Consulate in New Orleans, LA, on September 4th to apply for new Visas. This is a great milestone that we have longed to cross. Please ask the Lord to allow our Visas to come in quickly. We presently have 95% of our support and trust the Lord to bring in that which remains. We will be traveling extensively over the next two months and request your prayers concerning safety on the highways. The Lord has provided us with meetings in Texas, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Ontario, South Carolina, and New York. It is a tremendous blessing and opportunity to have the privilege of presenting the ministry that the Lord has given us to many churches around our nation. In our March and April prayer letter we told you of a missionary family that was fighting the government of Spain to home school there children. Unfortunately they didn’t win their case and were told to put their children in public school or pay a fine and go to jail. Please pray that we will be able to continue home schooling our children in Spain. During the month of July we were able to take part in Neighborhood Bible Time in our home church. We are thankful that several children accepted Christ as their personal Savior and others dedicated their lives to serve Him. On the last day of the meeting many of the children’s parents came to the services and were presented with the plan of salvation. We trust the Lord to bring the seeds planted to fruition in the days ahead. We want to express our gratitude for the patience that you have shown us during our struggles to get back to Spain. While we were saddened to have lost some churches in the process, we praise the LORD that you have stayed faithful to us and that the LORD has allowed new churches to come onboard with us in reaching Spain for Christ. Once we return, we plan to go to the city of La Linea de la Concepcion, which is right next to Gibraltar (UK province). La Linea has a population of about 63,000 and Gibraltar has a population of about 28,000. This location is only 12 miles across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa. We have not been able to locate one single Gospel preaching church in this city and only one non-denominational work on Gibraltar. The need in Spain is so great in any direction or city that you could pick on the map. We continue to ask the Lord to send more laborers into the harvest of Spain. We are also facing a new experience for us. Our oldest son, Garrett, will not be returning to Spain with us. He will be finishing his high school in December and will be attending Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL, in January 2008. We are excited for him to begin this next phase of his life, but we will certainly be sad not to have him with us. We know this is tough for all parents and especially those missionaries serving in other countries. We ask that you pray for him and us in this endeavor. |
