Dear
Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ. February and March have
passed by so quickly and we are pleased to report that the Lord is
still
blessing the ministry here. Three of
the children in Bethel Baptist Church have made professions of faith in
Christ
and have been baptized in the last few weeks.
An American couple wintering in the port here has been baptized
also. They both came to the realization
that they were not baptized scripturally and decided to correct it. One of the couples that were recently saved
has their 14 year old son, Jason, visiting from England, where he is
attending
school. From the moment he walked off
the plane his parents started talking to him about what the Lord has
been doing
in their lives and of his need for Salvation.
After one and a half weeks he gladly accepted Christ as his
Savior. His parents were so excited as we
all were. Pray for him as he returns to
England next
week, because he is currently living with family that not only is not
saved,
but are Atheist. Jason has asked to be
baptized this Sunday, which is Easter.
These are just some of the wonderful blessings that the Lord has
allowed
us to share in during our time here.
We are currently preparing to move
to Puerto de Santa Maria. This city is
located about twenty minutes from where we currently are.
This is the city that Christopher Columbus
sailed from when he came to discover the West Indies.
The population of Puerto is 78,000 during the winter and
200,000+
in the summer. We have been praying for
the Lord’s direction as to where to go and we believe that He is
leading us
there. We have met with a few people from
there who are saved, but have no church to attend.
Pastor Parker is due to return on
April 24th and take back over the pastorate of this church. The Lord blessed his deputation and he and
his wife are looking forward to returning.
We have mixed emotions about their return as we have grown to
love the
people that we are ministering to and watching these brothers and
sisters in
Christ grow in the Lord. We are happy,
however, to be able to go back to working with the Spaniards on a full
time
basis.
Since the start of the war in Iraq,
numerous wounded have been flown to this base for medical treatment. We have had the opportunity to give New
Testaments to the wounded soldiers via the Chaplains on the base. We appreciate Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in
Oliver Springs, TN for donating 22 boxes of New Testaments for just
this purpose. We are trusting that the
Lord will use His
Word to reach the souls of these service men and women.
Patsy is getting close to wrapping up this year of home school and both she and the boys are happy about that. Daniel has had problems with viruses, bronchitis, and asthma all winter. We are thankful that he is much better and the weather is getting warmer. Your prayers on our behalf are greatly appreciated. The other boys are doing fine and are being “big helpers” to mom and dad in the ministry. God has taken good care of us and is always right by our side.
