Dear
Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings from Rota, Spain in the name of our
Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ! Christ is so wonderful and it is a great
honor
to serve the King of kings and Lord of lords.
He has allowed us to see four more precious souls make
professions of
faith in the past two months.
A South African man and his English wife
visited the
church recently, stating that God had led them to come to our church. I was preaching on "Wilt thou be made
whole" that particular Sunday Morning and Paul came forward and I began
to
take him through the plan of salvation.
I began in Acts 16:30-31, for some reason (the Lord knew why)
and he
asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive his sins and save his soul. I returned to the pulpit and kept the
invitation open and then his wife, April, came forward and Patsy was
able to
lead her to the Lord. Hallelujah!
We experienced the loss of a dear brother in
Christ
recently. He had been battling Lou
Gehrig's disease for the past seven years.
Being a retired member of the U.S. Navy, Bro. Creech was a
member of our
church, but his wife, a Spanish national, is a member of a Spanish
Baptist
Church here in Rota. She asked her
pastor to conduct the funeral and asked that I speak also.
The auditorium was filled with lost people
in need of a Savior and following the preaching an invitation was give. Two precious souls raised their hands
wishing to make professions of faith.
We ask that you continue to pray for the family of this dear
brother for
healing and the salvation of his lost friends and family.
Another blessing that the Lord has given us
in this
ministry is the ability to reach people from different nations. Rota has a marina where you can find peoples
from various countries around the world harbored here for the winter. So far we have been able to witness to
Germans, Canadians, and even some Americans not associated with the
military
base at the port. Please pray that God
will continue to allow us the opportunity to reach more nations with
the Gospel
message. One particular gentleman that
we met from North Carolina is sailing around and telling people about
the
Lord. He is a blessing to be around and
is coming faithfully to the church.
Patsy and the boys are actively involved in
everything that takes place in the ministry.
The boys are all growing up so fast.
Daniel has cut his first two teeth and trying to chew on
everything in
sight. He has had a lot of upper
respiratory problems this winter because it is so damp. Garrett
is doing very well on the piano and
is playing our offertories in the church.
Seth has just started learning how to play a recorder and our
desire is
to have him learn either the guitar or piano.
Christopher is doing fine and is excited about learning to read
and
add. Please continue to pray for Patsy
as she home schools and tries to train the children and Christian women
of the
church. We are looking forward to the
arrival of my dad in mid February to spend a couple of weeks with us. The kids are really excited and we know he
is too. He will be our first family
member to see Daniel.
We would appreciate much prayer on our behalf
concerning the exact location that the Lord would have us move on to
once Bro.
Parker returns in April. He will be
returning to pastor the military church where we are currently filling
in. Considering the fact that the country
of
Spain is 98% Roman Catholic, true Gospel preaching missionaries are
needed
everywhere. We desire to be exactly
where the Lord would have us to be, doing exactly what He would have us
to
do.
With the almost certain fact of war facing
us, we
ask for special prayer for the military families that we minister to. Thousands of troops are coming through this
base en route to the Middle East. Pray
that we will be able to reach as many as possible with the wonderful
message of
Salvation. We all need to remember that
these men and women are standing in the "gap" for our freedom. If we do go to war, many of them will be
called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
We want to share with them the ultimate
sacrifice of the Savior for their souls.
Let's keep our service men and women in much prayer.
