About Us
My name is Jamin Witte, and I am 27 years old. I am a graduate of Hyles Anderson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Missions. I am a missionary to the people of Spain. Please let me share my burden with you. I grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. My dad is an independent Baptist preacher, so naturally I heard the way of salvation frequently. I made a profession of faith as a child but never had peace about my salvation. At the age of fifteen at a summer camp, I trusted Christ as my Saviour. I attended a Christian school all of my life. When I graduated, my dad told me it would be a good idea to enroll in Hyles-Anderson College. This did not appeal to me at first, but I decided to try it for at least a year. During my freshman year, I was called to preach. When I was a junior in college, God called me to the mission field. I was not sure as to which country God would have me to go, so I started praying over a map of the world. In answer to my prayer, God gave me a tremendous burden for the people of Spain. God has used Bro. Doug Kalapp, Dr. Mike Cox, and Bro. Steve Heidenreich to train me to be able to serve God in Spain. My wife Julie was born and reared in a Christian home in Waterford, Michigan. When she was five, her mother talked to her about getting saved, but she did not quite remember what happened. At the age of eleven, she went forward during an invitation and asked Jesus into her heart. In the fall of 1998 she came to Bible college. We met when she joined my bus route. We started dating shortly thereafter. In May of 2001, she graduated with her Secretarial Certificate from Hyles-Anderson College. We were married on August 5, 2000. God has blessed us with one daughter thus far. I thank the Lord for my pastor and father, Larry Witte. It is from his life of hard work, faithfulness, and character of which I have been a student. I also am indebted to the First Baptist Church of Hammond for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this great ministry. It was here that I learned to be a soul winner and to give my life in service for others My family and I arrived on the field February 9, 2005. Julie and I are presently in language school, as well as helping out in a church pastored by a veteran missionary. Our goal is to start a church in the city of Jerez, a city of 189,000 souls. We believe with the help of God and the prayers of Gods people we will have the very first Baptist church of any kind started in this city by the Fall of 2006. |
