February - March 2001
Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The
Lord is definitely doing a wondrous work in our lives. He has
allowed
us to reach 72% of our needed support and we are looking to be on the
field
by the end of this summer! We have numerous meetings scheduled
for
the remainder of spring and summer, although we still have some open
dates
available. You can help us by praying that the Lord will provide
these
meetings for us.
We have started the process of applying for our visas and
passports
in order to be ready when our actual departure date arrives. We
have
some of our passage funds raised and thank the Lord for the dear
brethren
that have helped us. We were with a great missions minded church
in
Yorktown, Virginia last month that not only helped us with some of our
travel
funds, but they also gave us sign language training videos, and Betty
Lukens
flannel graph material. Truly, this church was a drink of cool
water
to a thirsty soul. The Lord recently gave us the wonderful
privilege
to be in the first Mission's Conference of a new church in
Georgia.
We were so excited to see this brand new church start off right by
obeying
the Great Commission. We are grateful for the blessings and
encouragement
that we have received in every church we have been able to share our
call
to Spain with.
After corresponding with missionaries that are already in Spain, we are
increasingly
burdened for a country so cold to the Gospel message, and brethren in
such
great need of help. We are praying about two major cities in the
southern
region of Spain that have no Gospel witness at all. These two
cities
are Granada and Sevilla. We are also praying about the Lord's will
concerning
language school. Please help us pray about these matters.
We constantly hearing two words from and about Spain, "Cold" and
"Hard".
It would be easy for us to become frightened and discouraged by this
description,
but the LORD has given us Rev 3:8 to assure us that He has a work that
He
will do through us there. "… I have set before thee and open
door,
and no man can shut it:…"
